NEW YORK — Jordan Romano will have nightmares of the Bronx for years to come. The Yankees walk off for the second time in three games, winning this game 5-4, improving to 10-8 on the season.
Pitching Highlight
The bullpen will be highlighted in this one. The starter, Luis Gil, was only able to give five innings in this outing, so the bullpen had to cover twelve outs. It took four releivers, Tim Hill, Fernando Cruz, Brent Headrick, and David Bednar to do it.
The Yankee bullpen allowed a combined two hits — both erased on the basepaths (a runner thrown out at third, and a double play), and one hit by pitch.
For a bullpen that has not been the best over the past week, it was good to see a really good effort out of one of the most important parts of the team.
Hitting Highlight
Who else can be highlighed but the guy who sent us home. Jose Caballero owns Romano. Monday, Caballero doubled off the Angels closer and scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Tonight, he drives in the tying and winning runs on a great peice of hitting, scored an RBI single.
Austin Wells used his speed to score from first base on the hit, that did not even reach the warning track. The Yankees have been forcing the issue much more this season with using speed, and it showed in this game. It would have taken a perfect relay, and the Angles did not exicute.
It was also notable that the Yankees rally started after former Yankee infeilder Oswald Peraza let a popup fall between him and shortstop Zach Neto.
Notable:
Gil is becoming an issue. He gave up three home runs in five inning pitched, surrendering four runs. His changeup looked solid in this outing, but he gave up three home runs and four runs after his offense handed him a 3-0 lead in the second inning.

He was still able to strike out five batters, and his offspeed stuff was solid. The issue is that his fastball was not sharp today, and has not been in some time.
What’s Next:
The Yankees will have the series finally against the Angels tomorrow at 1:35 pm. They will aim for a series win, sending out their ace, Max Fried to help them acheve that. The Angles have not named a starter. The game will be on YES Network.
