RAIN DELAY:

B1: Yankees Scored Three Runs

Ben Rice was inserted into the leadoff spot today, and promptly walked to lead off the game. He was driven in on a two-run home run off the bat of Aaron Judge.

Royals lefty Cole Regans would go on to walk three more batters in the inning, resulting in a sac fly by Austin Wells to add a third run, giving Ryan Weathers his first runs of stuff

B2: Ben Rice Homers

For the fourth straight game, Ben Rice has hit a home run. This one came off the lefty Regans. In fact, three of Rice’s last four home runs have came off left-handers. He should be getting reps every day, no matter what. This kid could find himself in MVP conversations if his performance keeps up.

B5: Trent Grisham Three-Run Shot

Trent Grisham with his third home run on the home stand to give the Yankees a 7-0 lead in the fifth inning with Ryan Weathers cruising along. It was also Grisham’s third home run of the year.

T6: Ryan Weathers Is Solid

Ryan Weathers has worked his way through six scoreless innings. Remember Tuesday when I wrote/said that Weathers looked good aside from the four home runs? That showed today. His stuff looked really good today, and the run support from his offense certainly helped.

This awful send by the Royals also helped.
